It is by far the best manual, portable sharpener I have ever used…. I especially like the versatility of it. I have used it on flat and re-curve blades as well as fishing hooks and leather punches and it performed well. Something for everyone in this little package.”

After unsuccessfully trying a multitude of manually operated/field sharpeners since the last century ended, my search finally came to a much needed, albeit fruitful, end when my Snap-On dealer introduced me to the Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener! And since that fateful day four years ago, I've literally gone through a dozen of them from either giving them away or wearing the diamond plates down. The angle guides are great for introducing the inexperienced to the wonderful world of hand sharpening, something a lot of folks find a little intimidating because once steel has been honed away, it can never come back. But with the Work Sharp, with each passing use you only gain greater confidence in your abilities, especially because results are very immediate with diamond removing steel way faster than stones. I also use the Work Sharp Guided Sharpener at home because it comes available with a plethora of sharpening goodies like the strop, and extra course & extra fine diamond plates. My sharpening teacher used a Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener & strop block on a factory edge right in front me and produced an edge that easily rivaled one from a buddy of his who only knows how to sharpen using the Wicked Edge system. If sharpening while afield is something you'd like to do, look no further because Work Sharp has your solution.
