The sharpening guide is adjustable from 10° to 35° and accommodates kitchen knives, outdoor knives (hunting knives, pocket knives, filet knives, etc.) as well as scissors and serrated knives. This sharpening system can also be used without the sharpening guide for a wide array of freehand sharpening and honing tasks on many woodworking cutting tools such as marking knives and carving tools.

Not recommended Review by Rick
Guide wears fast. Difficult to put good edge on knives. (Posted on 6/1/16)
The blade guides wear through and fall off from contact with belt edge in a very short time Review by Hank
Incidental edge contact with the belt wears through the blade guides and they fall off.
A small tracking error allows the belt edge to contact the guides.

Work Sharp Response: Give us a call Hank - there should not be any contact with the belt. Your system may need replaced under warranty.

Guides wear out fast Review by Marendon
After just a short time of using the belt sharpener the guilds started to wear out. The spring tension is also quite weak requiring a significant amount of time to sharpen a blade. Forget about putting a new edge on anything unless you have the better part of a day to spend. Will sharpen mild steel just fine though. (Posted on 5/7/14)
