Work Sharp Original Knife & Tool Sharpener

The Original Knife & Tool Sharpener is the first knife sharpener designed to sharpen every knife you own. Using flexible abrasive belts, the sharpener is able to sharpen not just straight bladed knives, but also curved knives, tanto blades, filet knives, serrated knives, gut hooks and virtually any other shape of knife blade. The Knife & Tool Sharpener uses precision angle sharpening guides to ensure that you get the proper angle every time. Two guides are included: a 50° guide for hunting and outdoor knives (25° per bevel) and a 40° guide for thinner blades and kitchen knives (20° per bevel). Professional knife makers use flexible belts to put a razor sharp edge on their blades, and now you can have the same technology at home to use any time your knives get dull. You may already have other sharpening methods, but never before has a knife sharpener been able to quickly and easily sharpen this broad range of knives to such extremely sharp results.

The Original Knife & Tool Sharpener also sharpens other common tools including scissors*, axes, hatchets, mower blades, garden shears, shovels, and most any tool with a cutting edge. The versatility of the Original Knife & Tool Sharpener makes it an invaluable tool for keeping all your blades in razor sharp condition and ready whenever you need them.

*Sharpening scissors requires the use of the scissor guide. Freehand sharpening cannot create the consistent edge necessary for scissors to cut. The scissor guide is set at 65° based on the most common scissor edge angles. The guide is designed for common "household" size scissors, including kitchen and shop shears. A 60° angled scissor guide is available on the optional 40° Outdoor Knife Guide. It is possible to regrind damaged scissor blades to 65° or 60° angle regardless of the original angle of the edge.

Very Effective Review by DougB

I've had my Knife & Tool Sharpener for at least 10 years now and have found it really handy for lawnmower blades and axes as well as knives. Though not my first choice for serrated blades, it will sharpen the projections. The only caveat is that it's easy to mis-angle your blade or dwell too much on its tip, so if you don't believe in following instructions, are careless or ham-fisted, or see using more force as the universal solution, you may wind up ruining belts and/or your blade tip. This machine is capable of excellent results, quickly. Your own results are up to you and, thankfully, it's not difficult to get the hang of using it. BTW, I'm still on my original package of belts! The only sharpening product I value even more is my Drill Doctor. (Posted on 11/21/17)

Quick & easy to sharpen a knife with the Ken Onion edition. Takes a little time to learn. When i first started i had a hard time holding the knife on the left side guide. It is the quickest and easiest system to learn. I now have a house full of hair popping knives. Best decision i have made in a while was to purchase this Ken Onion edition Work Sharp knife sharpener.
I was able to fix a knife that had the point of the blade broken off & dull. It took me about ten minutes to reshape and sharpen this to a razor sharp knife. Not bad for never using a belt knife sharpener before. (Posted on 11/16/17)
Ok, but not long lasting Review by Yup1234

Had this for 4 years now and all I really like about it is it's nice to have when you need a quick edge. I've tried it by the book for for the first couple of years and yes, I have gotten my knives sharp enough to shave with, but after a week or three at work using it to cut open boxes and split rubber housing on 7way wire, it needed to be sharpened again. One knife is 7cr137mov and the other is aus8. Never much phased me as I wasn't picky about an edge at the time. After 3 years I wanted my edge to last, at least a month on one and 3 on the other which I didn't think was much to ask of the knife blade materials and what I was doing with them. Still no luck over the last year... opted for a sub $100 knife (not by much) with a d2 blade that had excellent review for the last couple of years. Used the 40 degree attachment (not used prior to today) with polishing belt to fine tune the edge out of the box and after 6 passes noticed it had scratched the heck out of my new knife blade I've only had for 10 minutes. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS. (Posted on 11/15/17)
