The WS2000 also sharpens lawn mower blades, axes, scrapers, putty knives, carving tools, lathe tools, and much more! Work Sharp can sharpen and grind nearly any tool in your shop. Work Sharp uses a powerful 1/5 hp motor and produces a max wheel speed of 1750 RPM, so it can handle heavy sharpening and grinding tasks. Work Sharp offers an active air cooled sharpening port with routed air flow and heat sink design to quickly sharpen your tools without overheating or damaging the steel.

Can the glass wheel for the WS3000 be used for the WS2000? 

No, the safety standards established for use of this product by UL and ETL do not permit using the glass wheel on a tool that has an rpm of 1750. If the wheel fractures at that speed, it will eject glass fragments that can cause injury.

The spring on my WS2000 is weak, loose, missing or stretched.

I own a WS2000, is there an accessory available for sharpening 6" or 12" jointer/ planer knives?

No, they are too long (11" - 13") and spin on a power tool at high speeds - therefore ANY imbalance or variance in MTO during sharpening will create a vibration that could be very dangerous.

I have the WS2000, on page 10 of the user guide it shows that I should have a solid wheel.

The picture indicates the slotted wheel will accommodate the SOLID abrasive.

Can the WS2000 sharpen knives? 

Yes, we offer an optional attachment for sharpening knives Part Number WSSA0002009. The Work Sharp 2000 will not sharpen knives without this attachment due to the single direction of the wheel spin.
