Darex (Work Sharp) Announces The Hire Of Matt Elliott as Director Of Marketing

Darex, maker of Work Sharp and Drill Doctor products, has announced the hiring of Matt Elliott as Director of Marketing.

Prior to joining Darex, Elliott served as Director of Marketing at Benchmade Knife Company, where he led consumer research, brand development, and marketing strategy.

As Darex continues to expand in the sharpening category and taps into new segments and customers, Elliott will be focused on new product launches, strategic brand partnerships, and expanding the Darex brands’ voice as an industry leader.

“I am honored to lead brand marketing, product and customer service for a company like Darex,” said Elliott. “The opportunities for our family of brands seems endless and being able to lead strategy and culture from inception to final customer delivery to post-purchase is truly awesome.  Darex is an amazing place with seemingly limitless opportunity and I can’t say enough about my excitement for our future together. While it is always difficult to leave a company as amazing as Benchmade, Darex and Benchmade have a fantastic partnership and this will only create an even stronger bond between two great companies.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to add Elliott to our Marketing and Leadership teams,” said Darex CEO Matthew Bernard. “His extensive background in Marketing and Product Management at Benchmade, along with his passion for fishing, hunting, and conservation, make him a natural fit for connecting with our core customer and driving our marketing vision into the future.”

Matt Elliott is a lifelong outdoors-man with over a decade of marketing and brand experience and holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Marketing from Portland State University and Executive MBA from University of Oregon.

    Mr. Matt Elliott,
Best wishes on your assignment as DM. Hi, I have enjoyed my WS3000, for the past few years. Thank you for a fine tool.
At times, though, I could use slower revolutions for use in specific applications. Please advise as to how, (if possible), to use a rheostat, or other appropriate device, to reduce RPM’s. If your next updated model had that feature, I am certain it would create additional interest, simultaneously boosting sales interest. Please advise. Thanx again for a very useful addition to my bench-top activities.
    Respectfully, RS
