It is by far the best manual, portable sharpener I have ever used…. I especially like the versatility of it. I have used it on flat and re-curve blades as well as fishing hooks and leather punches and it performed well. Something for everyone in this little package.”

Best field sharpener on the market

I've used one of these for around 4 years now and in my opinion it's the best field sharpener on the market to date

Great design and sharpens almost any blade extremely well

I used to sharpen mainly with whetstone followed by a honing steel with a couple passes lightly across the corner of a piece of soft wood to remove any burr left after honing. I’d also keep a cheap pull through type sharpener with stone and ceramic rods on my tool belt for quick touch ups at wrk if I needed. When I discovered the Field Sharpener thanks to a friend, I was intrigued. Then I sharpened my EDC blades; Kershaw Cryo assisted open & Coast fixed blade Work Knife, both fairly hard steels and after seeing them not only sharper than I’d gotten either before, but how even the edge was tip to hilt, I was sold. I’ve since used this sharpener as my go to for all my blades, even my kitchen cutlery and tactical blades. I even managed to work out some serious nics and a chipped tip on one of my favorite santoku chopping knives that I’d thought was destined for the recycling.

I still uses stones occasionally and will always finish up with a pass over the edge of a piece of soft wood to remove the burr after I ceramic or strop because it’s so key to do so imo, but this little sharpener is definitely my preferred method now.

Auto tech

This is the best and easiest to use knife sharpener I have ever used. I have tried everything human powered under the sun and this sharpener is the only one to get the job done. I have recommended this sharpener to a couple of friends and they like it as well. As an archer I also appreciate the built in broad head wrenches. This tool was well thought out and extremely well executed. Great job and keep up the good work.
