My sharpener smells hot and quit spinning the belt. I was wondering if I have a transmission issue between the motor and the piece that spins the belt. Any thoughts
I had a friend buy one who sharpened some knives for me and I had to own one. I finally got one for Christmas! I used it rite away grabbing everything I could that had an edge so I could play with it in the shop! Works great. Every knife passed the shaving test. Now this could be operator error but the belts aren’t as durable as I’d like them to be. I’m going to need to get more if I’m to keep using it. I hope there is something I can do to make them last longer. Over all I love it!

We are glad to hear that you are enjoying your new Work Sharp. Our belts are engineered to last between 80-100 sharpenings. This will vary depending on the condition of your blades. After the initial edge refresh on all your knives, regular maintenance will help the belts last longer (as you won’t be going through the initial dull to sharp cycle as much).
