A great FIELD sharpener. Does the job in the field well, re sharpened (not repaired damaged edges) at least 20 times from SAK to bigger knives. It won’t do machetes, but the size of it should tell you that.
For those who claim you wore the plates out quickly, maybe something drong with your techniques.
Awesome product, in the future if you add 2 V slots with a carbide and ceramic to sharpen BIGGER knives in a pull through manner, the version 2.0 will be hard to compete with. Keep up the good work.

I’ve been using work Sharp products for years, even though I have a bigger unit in my shop I keep a field sharpener in my kitchen for quick tune ups of my kitchen knives. I also carry one in my go everywhere bag in my truck, we don’t travel without it. Great products.

Great Field Sharpener!! The word Field is being overlooked a little bit I think because a lot of people are complaining about plates wearing out but upon further reading just to find out they are sharpening whole sets of collector knives or doing all the kitchen knives then the neighbors kitchen knives as well. If the cost of the FIELD sharpener wasn’t enough or the name didn’t tip you off there are still more clues. Like this one here , ” DON’T SHARPEN 25 KNIVES WITH A FIELD SHARPENER!!! Still the best FIELD sharpener I have had the pleasure of owning. Good luck to you all
