Work Sharp Pro Staff: Dexter Ewing

For over 20 years, Dexter Ewing has been a successful knife writer.  Currently serving as Field Editor for BLADE Magazine as he has done the past 16 years, Ewing covers current trends in production knives, knife technology, and sharpening.

A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Ewing also owns and operates Winston-Salem Knife Sharpening, a knife & tool sharpening service he runs from his residence.  The arsenal of sharpeners he uses include a multitude of Work Sharp equipment, from four WSKTS-KO Ken Onion Edition sharpeners, each outfitted with the Blade Grinding Attachment, two WSKTS Knife & Tool Sharpeners, WSGSS Guided Sharpening System, and a WSGFS221 Guided Field Sharpener.

My sharpener motor has apparently died…I have had it for 2or 3 years and have only send it maybe eight times…..it started making a weird noise and started spitting out little pieces of plastic or metal….not sure on a warranty…..can’t find my paper work but seems it should not tear up this quickly…..do I have any options other than thinking of purchasing a new one…….only thought if it doesn’t last any longer I have wasted my money again
