Our Way of Life

Haa Kusteeyí, a Tlingit tradition that can be translated to “our way of life,” carries a meaning that runs much deeper than words alone.

This new series follows Kootink Heather Douville of the Shank'weidi Clan and her father, Geetweín Michael Douville of the Deisheetan Clan, as they share what it means to live in connection with the land, the water, and one another.

Through Heather’s journey and her father’s teachings, Haa Kusteeyí offers a glimpse into a culture rooted in values, responsibilities, and traditions passed down for generations. It is the story of family, heritage, and the enduring relationship between people and the world that sustains them.
